TOON OF THE DAY: TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN

By: Makaveli

Jon Benjamin, British High Commissioner to Ghana, has only been two years into his current post, but he’s generated enough controversy to last a lifetime spent in a foreign country.
Just over the weekend he waded right into another — with respect to Ghanaian football, arguably his favourite extra-curricular occupation these days — when delivering a speech at the annual awards event held by the Sports Writers Association of Ghana. This time, he lunged at the subject of how much members of the Black Stars ought to receive as bonuses, claiming “already highly paid footballers given the high and patriotic honour of representing their countries should not also expect large appearance bonuses for doing so.”
As KickerGH’s cartoonist, Makaveli, points out in usually inimitable manner, though, not everyone was pleased with the 53-year-old’s opinion.
